A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL THAT THE UTILITY RATE ORDINANCES AND UTILITY
CREDIT PROGRAMS BE REVIEWED BY CITY STAFF AND THE CITY
COUNCIL ANNUALLY.
WHEREAS, the City Council has established certain utility rates and a utility credit
program to provide rate relief to customers who are at or below the poverty level; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to insure that the rates and programs are functioning as
intended and do not have an undue long term impact on the rate structure for various utilities
of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to review the programs and rates after a year's
operation to determine whether they should be continued as originally established or modified;
Now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND:
It is the intention of the City Council that the utility rate ordinances and low income
utility credit programs established by the City Council be reviewed by the Council annually.
The Public Works Department and the Clerk/Treasurer are directed to prepare an analysis of the
programs and rates and make recommendations to the City Council annually.
