A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE ATTACHED
LEASE WITH G. RODNEY JOHNSON FOR OFFICE SPACE IN THE
BARTLETT BUILDING TO REPLACE THE EXISTING OFFICE SPACE
OCCUPIED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY.
WHEREAS, the existing lease for the office space occupied by the City Attorney at 209
Quincy Street expires on September 15, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the lease for the existing space cannot be renewed because the owner of
the space at 209 Quincy wishes to use the space for a retail store; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have additional space available in City Hall or any other
nearby location for the City Attorney's office; and
WHEREAS, after a search for space iri the Downtown area near City Hall has been
conducted and the space in the Bartlett Building is the only suitable space available at a lease
rate similar to the existing space; Now, Therefore:

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY T T,-' ~
TOWNSEND THAT:
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a lease with G. Rodney Johnson in
substantially the same form as attached hereto for space in the Bartlett Building to house the
offices of the City Attorney until such time as alternate City owned space or other suitable space
becomes available in the vicinitY of City Hall.
