A RESOLUTION authorizing an agreement for
professional services between the City of Port Townsend
and Makers Architecture and Urban Design for Phase IH
of the Point Hudson Planning Project.
WHEREAS, on December 4, 1990, the City Council adopted the Urban Waterfront Plan to help guide
the future development of the Port Townsend urban waterfront; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Waterfront Plan urged the City Council to initiate a planning process for the Point
Hudson area involving the City, the Port of Port Townsend and interested organizations and citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City and Port established the Point Hudson Advisory Committee to guide the preparation
of a plan for the future use of the Point Hudson area; and
WHEREAS, the Point Hudson Advisory Committee has completed Phase I and Phase II of the Point
Hudson Planning Project which includes the preparation of conceptual plan alternatives for the Point
Hudson area; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded Washington State Department of Ecology CZM 306 grant funds
for Phase III of the Point Hudson Planning Project to evaluate and prepare a preferred alternative for the
Point Hudson area; and
WHEREAS, the Point Hudson Advisory Committee, thorough an open and competitive consultant
selection process, has chosen Makers Architecture and Urban Design to assist the Committee in its
preparation of a preferred alternative for the Point Hudson area and help fulfill its 306 grant obligations
with the Department of Ecology; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has appropriated in-kind funds in the 1994 budget to meet the local match
for the City portion of the grant; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND that the Mayor
is hereby authorized to enter into a scope of work agreement with Makers Architecture and Urban
Design substantially in the form of the agreement attached hereto as Attachment A.
