A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH
JEFFERSON TRANSIT AUTHORITY TO PAY THE TRANSIT AUTHORITY TO
PROVIDE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO UTILITY
SYSTEMS RELATED TO THE PROPOSED HAINES PLACE PARK & RIDE
Whereas,
the City of Port Townsend and the Jefferson Transit Authority wish to cooperate in the
construction of improvements to utilities in the vicinity of the proposed Haines Place Park
& Ride and minimize impacts and costs of such construction; and
Whereas, the City has previously agreed to support Jefferson Transit Authority and help fund the
Haines Place Park & Ride Facility project; and
Whereas,
the City has budgeted funds for undesignated projects in 1994 that may be used towards
additional improvements not already specified in the Haines Place Park & Ride Facility
scope of work inlcuding, but not limited to, stormwater, streets, sidewalks, water and
wastewater infrastructiure; and
Whereas, both agencies recognize the value in a single party designing improvements and having
them constructed under the contract to build the Haines Place Park & Ride Facility; and
Whereas, in order to allow the design work to smoothly proceed, an interlocal agreement is
requested to assure a fair and mutually satisfactory allocation of costs and responsibilities;
NOW THEREFORE
Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that the Mayor is authorized to
execute in substantially the form as attached an Interlocal Agreement with Jefferson Transit
Authority which would allow the Mayor and the Transit Authority General Manager to execute
ancillary agreements to have design and construction work involving City utilities performed as
ammendments to the existing scope of work for ~p~roposed Haines Place Park & Ride Facility.
