A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND SETTING REDUCED RATE RESERVATION POLICY FOR
USE OF McCURDY PAVILION AT FORT WORDEN STATE PARK,
PORT TOWNSEND
WHEREAS, by Resolution 90-03, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
authorized an interagency leasehold agreement with the Washington State Parks and Recreation
Commission, for among other things, a reduced rate use of McCurdy Pavilion at Fort Worden
State Park for up to 29 days each year; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend desires to make these reduced rate days available
on an equal basis to:
Locally established nonprofit organizations;
Schools located within the Port Townsend School District; and
Port Townsend City Government.
THEREFORE, to exercise this leasehold right a qualifying party shall:
1. Contact Fort Worden State Park ("FWSP") for facility availability.
2. Request in writing to the chairperson of the Parks, Recreation and Property
Committee of the Port Townsend City Council stating the purpose of event and date(s)
r. equested. The facility use shall not exceed three (3) days per event.
3. Reservations for facility use may be made no more than one (1) year in advance
of the proposed date of use.
4. Upon approval of the Parks, Recreation and Property Committee the reserving
party will confirm the reservation with FWSP by providing park reservation staff with a copy
of the letter granting use of City reduced rate days.
5. The user will pay the reduced rate for use of McCurdy Pavilion to FWSP.
This policy shall be contingent on written approval by the Washington State Parks and
Recreation Commission to an amendment or modification of the January 18, 1990 Leasehold
Agreement, consistent with paragraph 12 of that Agreement.
