A RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE MAYOR TO SURPLUS AND SELL AT NOT
LESS THAN MARKET VALUE USED FIRE HYDRANTS, BRASS FITTINGS,
COPPER TUBING, DAMAGED STREET SIGNS AND STORM GRATES.
the Public Works Department regularly replaces worn out
fire hydrants that are n° longer adequate to supply fire
flows, and are no longer needed; and
damaged brass fittings and damaged copper tubing in odd
lengths will no longer be useable to provide adequate
service connections; and
bent and damaged street signs, posts, used storm grates
and miscellaneous scrap metal will not be needed to
operate or maintain the street and sewer system.
NOW . THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the city of Port Townsend to
surplus for scrap all of the above mentioned material at fair
market value with prices for the brass and copper separate from
those for the steel and cast iron.
