RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE ATTACHED LEASE WITH
MIDDLEPOINT ASSOCIATES LLC, FOR OFFICE SPACE IN THE GOOD
TEMPLARS BUILDING TO REPLACE THE EXISTING OFFICE SPACE
OCCUPIED BY THE CITY WATER DEPARTMENT
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the existing lease for the office space occupied by the City's Water
Department has expired; and
WHEREAS, the lease for the existing space cannot be renewed because the Port
Townsend School District wishes to use the space for school purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have additional space available in City Hall or any other
location for the Water Department's office; and
WHEREAS, after conducting a search for space in Port Townsend and unincorporated
Jefferson County, the Good Templars Building is the only suitable space available at a reasonable
lease rate,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a lease with Middlepoint Associates
LLC/Rob Gruye, in substantially the same form as attached hereto, for space in the Good
Templars Building to house the offices of the Water Department. The Mayor shall be authorized
to exercise the Option to Renew on behalf of the City Council.
ADOPTED by the City Council 9f the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor
