HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-032 Establishing fees for certain street usesResolution 09-03Z Street Use Fees Page l of l RESOLUTION NO. 09-032 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING FEES FOR CERTAIN STREET USES WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance 3017 allowing certain uses on streets and sidewalks in the commercial, historic commercial, mixed use and manufacturing districts, and now by this Resolution sets fees for such uses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows: Fees for uses allowed by Ordinance 3017 are as follows: See attached Exhibit A. ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof, held this third day of August, 2009. All permits listed with a base fee are subject to an additional $50 per hour fee in addition to the base fee, for each hour or portion of an hour of staff time that exceeds the following calculation: base fee divided by $50. Costs are in addition to any fees. Resolution 09-032, Exhibit Page 2 of 2 B. Permits are required, but no fees apply to the following: 1. Temporary Street Closures — activities that require temporary closures of streets, lanes or sidewalks for commercial loading/unloading, construction storage or repair purposes. 2. Newspaper Sales and Private Mail/Parcel Boxes — commercial structures, other than individual U.S. Postal Service boxes, that use the street, sidewalk and/or public right-of-way for extended time periods for newspaper sales or the private collection of mail or parcels. 3. Public or community service structure, including, public art. C. In addition to base fees for permits, an annual charge for square footage use applies. Charge is approved by City Council on recommendation of City Manager. D. Use is deemed a positive streetscape attribute, and as such, permit and permit fee apply, but no charge for use of public space applies.
