HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-088RESOLUTION NO 97- ~/ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND SUBMIT THE 1998-2003 SIX-YEAR TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, The Transportation Committee of the City Council has reviewed the 1998-2003 Six Year Plan; and WHEREAS, The City is required by the State of Washington Department of Transportation to submit an approved Transportation Improvement Plan by July 31 of each year; and WHEREAS, Many City streets presently are of substandard construction; and WHEREAS, Traffic and weight on many City streets have increased substantially; and WHEREAS, The City receives ½ cent gas tax from the State for road improvements accounting to approximately $55,000.00. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the Mayor to sign this resolution approving the attached Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program for 1998-2003 for submission to the State Department of Transportation.
