CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND RELAUNCHES THE CITY'S ENGAGEMENT PORTAL
Get engaged by finding opportunities to do, to give, and to learn
and help make our community an even better place for all
PORT TOWNSEND —The City of Port Townsend has relaunched Engage PT with new opportunities to get
involved in the community. The initiative welcomes everyone in the community to get engaged,
through doing (volunteering), giving (donating, leaving a legacy), and learning (staying current on
everything happening with city government).
Volunteering brings lasting value to the community and can provide meaning and connection to
individuals. Opportunities range from being part of an ongoing group, participating in a work party,
completing a one-time project, working individually, participating with a specific department (like police,
library, or parks departments), adopting a sewer drain, or serving on a commission or advisory board to
City Council.
Giving can contribute to the sustainability and longevity of the community with its stunning location,
and natural beauty, infused with cultural and recreational experiences. Opportunities range from
adopting a Parks memorial bench, donating to enhance public art around town, or contributing to Parks
and City Legacy Giving. For those with a passion for parks, trails, green spaces, maritime, clean water,
and history, Legacy Giving is an opportunity to contribute towards preserving and growing the Port
Townsend services for today and generations to come. The program provides meaningful ways to
recognize milestones, celebrate events, or honor loved ones while enhancing Port Townsend's
infrastructure, parks, trails, and services.
Donations of any size are accepted, and donors can specify where they would like their donation used.
There is also an option of planned giving which is designed to fit all needs and desires. For more
information, contact Carrie Hite at 1.h.Ja .. .ii.ty ofpt_V_us, or 360-379-2979.
Learning is another way to get and stay engaged. Opportunities and current topics can be found on the
Engage PT portal at nr,n{nr....c t ®;(,pt,,ts (e,rn,g e. The site also includes a form to send us questions,
comments or thoughts.
Mayor David Faber says, " A more engaged community is more resilient, sustainable and equitable. Our
successes are largely due to the energy and commitment of our engaged residents. Please consider
getting involved or recommitting your efforts to make a positive difference in our community."
