Re: Construction Completion for Kacson Residence Stormwater Improvements
PermitNo. SDP18-029
Aspect Project No. 170641
Dear Brandon,
This leffer documents the completion of construction of the Kacson Residence Stormwater
Improvements project under permit number SDP18-029. The improvements generally consist of
two new infiltration/dispersion trenches, a new rain garden, and decommissioning of the former
piped system.
I reviewed progress photos provided by the contractor, Shold Excavating, during construction and
completed a postconstruction inspection on July 27,2021.The improvements were constructed in
general accordance with the engineering plans stamped l0ll2l2o20. There were two minor changes
that the contractor reviewed with me, and I approved prior to construction:
o The contractor substituted 4-inch trench drain for the 6-inch trench drain specified for the
driveway because of lack of availability of the 6-inch product.
. To minimize soil disturbance, the contractor left the base section of the former catch basin
in place after capping pipes that entered and exited it. The base section was buried, and no
surface expression remains.
During the inspection, I measured the overall dimensions of the infiltration/dispersipn trenches and
rain garden, and setback distances of the rain garden from the house and neighboring property. The
facility sizes and setbacks are consistent with the plan.
Photos taken by the contractor during construction and by me during the postconstruction
inspection are included as an attachment.
Some bare soil was left in the lawn area where the former drainage system was removed/capped.
Mr. Kacson indicated that he intends to seed any bare areas of the lawn with grass in the fall, once
rains return to support grass seed germination growth.
If you have any questions about the change in discharge location and sample point, please contact
me at oreesp@aspectconsulting.com or 206-838-5844.
