RESOLUTION NO. 22-011
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON ACCEPTING THE POSSIBLE DEDICATION OF SIX ACRES ALONG
RAINIER STREET FOR STORMWATER RETENTION, WETLAND PRESERVATION,
AND OPEN SPACE
WHEREAS, the proposed Madrona Ridge subdivision is located on Rainier Street; and
WHEREAS, the development approval may include the dedication of six acres of high-
functioning wetlands and a stormwater pond that will serve the adjacent Rainier Street; and
WHEREAS, the City typically owns and manages stormwater systems that serve public
streets; and
WHEREAS, the dedication of the wetlands would benefit the public by preserving them
and allowing for mitigation for other projects; and
WHEREAS, this resolution does not determine any conditions of plat approval, but makes
the dedication possible if the hearing examiner requires it;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City accepts the possible dedication of six acres along Rainier
Street for stormwater retention, wetland preservation, and open space.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 22"d day of February 2022.
