HomeMy WebLinkAbout21-065 Updating and Providing for Development Services Department Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Energy Code, Grading, Fire Prevention System Permit, Inspection and Application Fees Resolution 21-065 Page 1 of 2 RESOLUTION NO. 21-065 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, UPDATING AND PROVIDING FOR DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT BUILDING, MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, ENERGY CODE, GRADING, FIRE PREVENTION SYSTEMS PERMIT, INSPECTION AND APPLICATION FEES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, on recommendation of the City Manager and City Development Services Director determines it appropriate to update the Development Services Building Valuation table and valuation-based fee chart established in Resolution 14-007 (approved March 17, 2014 and fee schedule established by Resolution 11-041 (approved December 19, 2011); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows: SECTION 1. New Fees Established Effective January 1, 2022, the hourly rate for Development Services Department building permit and application fees will be $88.00. The Finance and Administrative Services Director and the Development Services Director will modify the Development Services Department fee schedule to reflect the new hourly rate. SECTION 2. Annual adjustments Effective January 1, 2022, The Finance and Administrative Services Director will annually review the hourly rate and effective January 1 of each year following 2022, will adjust the hourly rate the hourly rate and other building permit flat rate fees by the annual percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U)) June to June rounded to nearest whole dollar. SECTION 3. Adoption and annual updating of the valuation table Effective January 1, 2022, the Development Services Department will use the Building Valuation Data table published by the International Codes Council, in August 2021 (Exhibit A). The Development Services Director, effective January 1 of each year following 2022., will use the Building Valuation Data published by ICC in August of the preceding year. SECTION 4. Adoption of fee schedule Effective January 1, 2022, the fees for various Development Services department building permit, application and inspection fees as set forth in Exhibit B (attached hereto and incorporated by reference) are hereby established and prior fees are rescinded. SECTION 5. Severability If any provisions of this Resolution or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the Reslution, or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
