Gloria,
I attached an updated map that shows a twenty foot wide area where vegetation would be trimmed.

Hey there Tyler,
Can you help me out on this? WDFW wants us to provid e "a horizontal meqsurement so we can
determine the undisturbed distance to the-wqter". I replied that the mower arm will not reach beyond
20-feet in and thus only the outer edge of the vegetation would be cut (to a height of about :-+ felt).
WDFW replied "so how much distance will be left between the cut eige and lhe water? How abouttheminimumqndmaximum."
Can you create a site plan that shows the wetland edge - a 20-foot "mow area" and then the min. and
max. remaining buffer?
Many thanks,
Judy Surber

Thanks Judy,
I understood that. So how much distance will be left between the cut edge and the water? How about the
minimum and maximum.

Hello Judy,
Thanks so much for the reminder! Could you please provide a horizontal measurement so we can determine the
undisturbed distance to the water. Thanks

Hello Gloria,
you had asked for more information on the proposed vegetation management at the city's golf course pond.
Attached, please find:
Vicinity map - Port Townsend Bay is in the bottom of the photo and Kah Tai Lag_oon is als_o shown' A red
arrow lhows the location of the golf course pond near the intersection of F and San Juan Streets.
Aerial photo oulining the area proposed to be cut to maintain line of sight from the two T-off locations (on
the west side of pond) to the green (on the east side).
The vegetation, primarily cattails, would be cut using an affn off a riding lawn mower. Although
the total area sh6wn in the aerialphoto is 28,246 sf - in reality, the mower arm will not reach
beyond 2}-feetin and thus only the outer edge of the vegetation would be cut (to a height of
about 3-4 feet).
Our Critical Areas Ordinance reads as follows: "At this time, the only priority habitats and
species known to be identified and mapped by the Department of Wildlife in Port Townsend are

the following:
a. Bald eagles;
b. Great blue herons'
c. Brant and harlequin feeding areas;
d. Waterfowl concentrations at Kah Tai Lagoon;
e. Waterfowl wintering area at golf course pond.,'
Thank you for looking into any applicable regulations/identifying concerns,
