Dear Ms. Jackson,
Suzanne Wassmer of our office asked that I review your application BLD 09 -041. I would like to meet
with you and Mr. Thompson to discuss the need for a critical areas permit.
As you are aware, the Customer Assistance information CAM 08 -008, stated that a wetland assessment
was required. A copy of a wetland report by Wiltermood was received by our office on April 1, 2009,
The report indicates wetland buffers exist on site. The report does not include a site plan depicting the
wetland boundary and the proposed development. It appears however that the proposed construction
will be partially within the buffer or within close proximity to the buffer. It is therefore subject to a
critical areas permit (Chapter 19.05 PTMC).
It appears that the proposed building does not comply with the required 15 -foot setback from a wetland
buffer. Section 19.05.110(E):
1. 0. Building setback lines shall be measuredfrom the outside edge ofrequired buffers and no
setback shall be less than 15 feetfrom an established wetland buffer. a critical area permit is
requiredfor any development proposal whenever any portion ofthe site is within a critical area
or required buffer area or whenever the director makes a finding that a development proposal is
likely to significantly impact a critical area (regardless of its location).
I left a message for Mr. Thompson requesting a meeting to discuss the critical areas permit.
