The wetland contains atree layer of willows with an understory of spirea and rose. On neighboring parcels (west of GibbsStreet) standing and ponded water with wetland dependent sedges were also identified- Please referto the enclosed map for approximate locations of the wetland at Gibbs Street.A portion of the Deering Wetland (associated with Katherine and 29th Street) was recentlydelineated and mapped. The water line would need to cross the buffer of this Category II wetland ifit were to be sited within Katherine Street to 29h Street- Katherine Street is partially cleared (whichincludes part of the buffer) but running a water line would add additional impacts to the Category IIwetland buffer at29th Street.Other alternative routes for the water line should be evaluated- The final authority over whereutilities are located rest with the City of Port Townsend Public Works. If there are any other question or you need further help please feel free to call.SincerelyDixie LlewellinPrincipal Biologist, Olympic Wetland Resources, Inc.Certified for Wetland Delineation, 1987 ManualWetland Training Institute, June 1995Flint Water LineReport File Number 2006-061406IOlympic Wetland Resources, lnc. 06/06
