On average, how many hours do you spend prepping for each City Council meeting?
On how many committees or other boards do you serve on behalf of Council? How many hours
of preparation for each of those? How long does it take you to travel to those meetings? And,
how much time do you spend in those meetings?
What are the aspects of the meeting preparation that are the most burdensome and time-
consuming?
On average, how many hours a month do you spend meeting with individual members or
groups of the public?
Given the time commitments you just mentioned, are you able to maintain enough
employment with other organizations that you feel that you can maintain a living wage
income?
Are there forms of compensation other than salary that would assist you in reaching a living
wage income?
What role, if any, did Council salary play in your decision to run for office? Run for re-election
or to not run for re-election?
Do you think that the current salary for the City Council members creates a financial barrier for
working class members of the community to run for office?
Do you believe that the current City Council salary is appropriate compensation for the time
commitment required?
Is there anything else relevant to our work that we should know?
