NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Port Townsend City Council will conduct a public hearing on Monday, September
20, 2021 at or about 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 540 Water Street, Port Townsend,
WA (virtual/online), to accept public testimony on proposed changes to Title 17 (Zoning)
of the Port Townsend Municipal Code (PTMC). Specifically, the proposed changes in
LUP21-020 affect:
PTMC 17.08.020: revise the definition of “child care facility”
PTMC 17.08.020: modification of the definition of “accessory building” to delete
the language referring to “Garden Shelter.”
PTMC 17.32: Modify the Planned Unit Development (PUD) chapter to
reduce the allowable minimum lot size from 3000 sq ft down
to 2000 sq ft.
PTMC 17.08.070: Include a new definition for “zero lot line”
PTMC Table 17.16.020: Add language to allow a duplex structure to be constructed
along a zero lot line
Persons wishing to testify before City Council may do so either by submitting verbal
testimony during the public hearing by joining in person or via computer or tablet at
http://joinwebinar.com (enter the 9 digit Webinar ID 578-066-435) or by submitting
written comments to the City Clerk at 250 Madison Street, Suite 2, Port Townsend, WA
98368. Written comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on September 20, 2021.
Submit public comment emails to publiccomment@cityofpt.us. Ordinance 3272 is
available for inspection in the City Clerk’s office on the Second Floor of City Hall.
