A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RELEASE UP TO $80,000 IN FUNDS
FROM THE TRANSMISSION PIPELINE REPLACEMENT FUND FOR COSTS
ASSOCIATED WITH THE WATER PIPELINE MAIN BREAK.
WHEREAS, the Transmission Pipeline Replacement Fund was set up as a trust fund to pay for
repairs and costs associated with the pipeline; and
WHEREAS, there was a break in the water main causing damage and a shut down of the Port
Townsend Paper Company's operations; and
WHEREAS, the costs associated with the waterman break are allowable expenses under the
terms of the Transmission Pipeline Replacement Fund; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of the trust both the Port Townsend Paper Company and the City
of Port Townsend must authorize the use of these funds; and
WHEREAS,
the City Manager would like to have these funds available for reimbursement to
the Port Townsend Paper Company, even if some of the losses are ultimately
covered under either entities insurance coverage,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the City Manager to
release up to $80,000 in funds from the Transmission Pipeline Replacement Fund.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 20th
day of December, 1999.
