RESOLUTION NO. 20-029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A GRANT
AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF WASHINGTON FOR THE RECEIPT AND
EXPENDITURE OF THE CORONAVIRUS RELIEF FUNDS
WHEREAS, as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, the State
of Washington received stimulus funding from the United States government; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Washington allocated $300 million of the stimulus funding to
cities and counties ineligible to receive funding directly from the federal government; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Washington allocated $288,300 to the City of Port Townsend;
and,
WHEREAS, the City may use the funds for eligible expenses incurred between March 1,
and October 31, 2020;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, that the City Manager may accept the funds from the State of Washington
and execute a grant agreement to expend the funds on eligible expenses. The City Council also
finds that this action is necessary and routine as the City.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 1 st day of June 2020.
