RESOLUTION NO. 19-079
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING A GRANT OF $2,500 TO UNITED GOOD
NEIGHBORS TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS FOR THE POOR AND INFIRM
WHEREAS, the United Good Neighbors supports local nonprofits in the City of Port
Townsend that give assistance to the poor and infirm by identifying the most critical needs in the
community and matching the funding to those organizations that serve those needs; and
WHEREAS, one of the roles of City government is to alleviate suffering in the City and
look for ways to actively help members of the community who are poor and infirm; and,
WHEREAS, this is a critical issue for the City, and the citizens will benefit from the
City's participation with United Good Neighbors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
1. that the City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute a contract through
December 31, 2019 with United Good Neighbors of Jefferson County to support
those organizations that assist the poor and infirm within the corporate limits of Port
Townsend.
2. that the contract amount shall not exceed $2,500.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 7th day of October 2019.
