HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-057 Appointing an Interim City Manager, Authorizing a Salary Adjustment, and Waiving the Residency Requirment Resolution 19-057 RESOLUTION NO. 19-057 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, APPOINTING AN INTERIM CITY MANAGER, AUTHORIZING A SALARY ADJUSTMENT, AND WAIVING THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT WHEREAS, RCW 35A.13.150(2) authorizes the City Council to designate a qualified administrative officer to perform the duties of the City Manager following the termination of the services of a manager pending the appointment of a new manager; and WHEREAS, Nora Mitchell, City Finance and Administrative Services Director is a qualified administrative officer; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend: 1. Nora Mitchell is designated as the Interim City Manager from July 1, 2019, until the appointment of a new City Manager. 2. In recognition of her increased responsibility during her interim appointment and assistance in the new City Manager's transition, Nora Mitchell will be paid a monthly salary of$12,350.75 starting on July 1, 2019. She will return to the highest step of the Finance and Administrative Services Director salary range on January 1, 2020. 3. The residency requirement of RCW 35A.13.050 is waived for Nora Mitchell while she serves as Interim City Manager.
