HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-055 Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement with the PUD to Finance the Street Lights for Water Street and Jefferson Street Through a 15-Year Loan Resolution 19-055 RESOLUTION NO. 19-055 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE PUD TO FINANCE THE STREET LIGHTS FOR WATER STREET AND JEFFERSON STREET THROUGH A 15-YEAR LOAN. WHEREAS,the PUD created a Government Lighting Rate (PUD Resolution 2018-029) in order to allow government entities to finance the material and installation cost of street lights; and WHEREAS,the Water Street and the Jefferson Street Sidewalk project budgets did not include the purchasing of street lights fixtures, but the light pole bases and the conduits were installed; and WHEREAS,the total number of street lights to be finance for a period of 15 years is 22 street lights; and WHEREAS,the PUD went through public bidding process and received 4 vendor quotes and the low bid was from Platt/Lumca at $68,582.02; and WHEREAS, the "payback amount" is approximately $20.00 per street light per month in addition to the monthly basic charge based on wattage; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows: to authorize the City Manager enter into an Agreement with the PUD to finance the street lights for Water Street and Jefferson Street through a 15-year loan. ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof, held this 17th day of June 2019. Deborah S.
