A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO SERVICE
CONTRACTS NOT TO EXCEED $134,885 IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROPOSED
CITY HALL RESTORATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, by Resolution 02-036 (July 22, 2002), the City Council determined
the City should assume responsibility (including project management) for preservation
and restoration of City Hall, within budget parameters defined by Resolution 02-036,
which Resolution approved a preliminary budget of up to $900,000 for City Hall
restoration; and
WHEREAS, the approved preliminary budget was based on proposed
expenditures of up to $134,885 for various activities and services that the City could
contract with various contractors and providers, including Jefferson County Historical
Society (JCHS), to perform, including, architectural and design services, project
management, grant writing and grant administration, and preparation of marketing
materials; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend, that the City Manager is authorized to take necessary steps, including
entering into necessary service contracts on terms approved by the City Manager, for
various activities and services, including, architectural and design services, project
management, grant writing and grant administration, and preparation of marketing
materials and related activities, in connection with the City Hall Restoration, so long as
the matters are consistent with Resolution 02-036..
