HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-007RESOLUTION NO. 04-007 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS WITH JEFFERSON COUNTY PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER TO THE CITY OF REAL PROPERTY IN THE VICINITY OF KAH TAI LAGOON, AND ONE DOWNTOWN PARCEL WHEREAS, the County owns certain real property in the vicinity of Kah Tai Lagoon, and an "alley/walkway" adjacent to Bank of America on Water St.; and WHEREAS, the County has agreed to sell this property to the City of Port Townsend for the sum of $25,000; and WHEREAS, acquiring the Kah Tai parcels allows the City to increase its ownership of property in the Kah Tai area and better enables the City to protect the lagoon and assemble property for an improved park. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows: The City Manager is authorized to execute necessary documents with Jefferson County that implements the transfer to the City of certain properties owned by the County at Kah Tai (shown on the attached map), and the "alley/walkway" adjacent to Bank of America on Water Street, for a price of $25,000. The City Manager is directed to bring forward for Council approval a supplemental budget during the regular supplemental budget process to fund the purchase from the stormwater utility fund. ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof, held this seventeenth day of February, 2004.
