NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES

RCO Grant Application:
Alex Wisniewski reviewed the grant timeline and technical
conference scheduled for May 21-23. The final proposal is due June 13. The $187,400
grant includes new trail construction, connector pieces, and existing trail improvements.
Trail Project Planning: Alex Wisniewski suggested delaying the scheduled trail project at
Hill Street so that it could be incorporated into the grant proposal. He spoke about
separating trail work projects from the work of the board. When asked about how the
education and information would be structured, he suggested this be added to work plan.
SR 20/Water Street Update/Complete Streets/Jefferson Street: Greg Lanning reported
that specific technical project elements could be addressed by specific staff at future
meetings. He responded to questions about SR20 curb cuts being in compliance with DOT
federal rules and noted signal crosswalks are not planned. Regarding questions about
addressing bicycles on sidewalks on Water Street, he reiterated the City is not inlaying tiles
due to existing budget constraints. It is possible to cut in tiles or add stencils later.
Regarding Jefferson Street, he confirmed that a climbing lane is in the plan and is waiting
to be costed out.
