GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Contractors working on this project are required to have a @@[I4g!gg1!1!q contractor?s
resistration number and a Citv business license. Failure to provide proof of this documentation
prior to work may result in job shut down while this is accomplished.
2. Temporary erosion and sediment control (TESC) measures shall be installed on-site and inspected
prior to beginning construction; call 385-2294. Measures shall include installation of silt fencing and
graveled construction entrance (see attached details). Adjacent rights-of-way shall be kept free of
dirt debris. Soils exposed during construction shall be temporarily stabilized with mulching, plastic
sheeting, etc. Soils shall be permanently stabilized with seeding, plantings, sodding, etc. once
construction is complete. Applicant is responsible for protection of adjacent properties.
3. All elements of engineering including nailing, holdownso sheathing, and alternate braced wall panels
(ABWP) require inspection prior to cover.
4. Owner or owner's agent shall review and oversee correction of any and all deficiencies noted by
required inspections.
5. Re-inspection is required after inspection report corrections are completed.
6. The Building Department is unable to pass final inspection on your project until Public Works
requirements have been completed and inspected. For Public Works inspection call385-2294. A
minimum of twentv-four hours notice is required. Public Works approval must be received prior to
schedulins the Buildins l)epartment's final inspection.
7. Final Inspections are required prior to occupancy; A Certificate of Occupancy is required for a non-
residential project.
8. AII building permits expire if no progress has been made within six months, or if no inspections are
done by the Building Department within one year. Call for at least one inspection per year to keep
your building permit active.
9. Revisions require submittal and approval qlq to making changes in the field. Contact the Building
Department (379-3208) prior to making changes to the approved plans.

Referencing the attached Commercial Permit Application documents we are requesting a
permit covering the following:
. Replace the existing bathroom hardware with new toilet, sink and bath hardware
o Repair or replace the tile bathroom floor
o Install a propane stove Jotul stove per the attached manufacturing specifications.
This is the third of four cottages that we have committed to address deferred maintenance
issues and to improve the effrciency of the heating system. Cottages 1 & 3 were refreshed
in Y2003. This permit is specific to Cottage 3.
All exterior work to deliver propan€ to the building was completed during the Y2003
permitting/inspection cycle. The attached schematic generally shows the locale of the
proposed changes however we may move the stove closer to the SE corner and we may
align the bathtub in a North to South direction based on a further evaluation of the
interior frame assembly.

The applicant hereby certifies to have knowledge of those sections of the Uniform Building Code and the Port
Townsend Municipal Code pertinent to the above project and that the applicant is responsible for constructing in
conformance with these codes; the applicant understands that the permit, if issued, expires in six months unless work is
started; that the permit, after construction has started, will expire after one year if an inspection is not made to show
significant progress on the structure; the applicant agrees to abide by the ordinances, codes, regulations, restrictive
covenants, deed or plat restrictions, and water and sewer plans attached hereto; the applicant certifies that all information
given above and on accompanying plans is complete and accurate to the best of his/her knowledge; and the applicant
understands that this information will be relied upon in granting permits and that if such information is later found to be
inaccurate any permits may be withdrawn.
The undersigned hereby saves and holds the City of Port Townsend harmless from any and all causes of action,
judgments, claims, or demands, or from any liability of any nature arising from any non-compliance with any restrictive
covenants, plat restrictions, deed restrictions, or ot-her resirictions which may have been established by parties other than
the City of Port Townsend.
Gomplete Application
Port Townsend Municipal Code, Section 16.04.140, Vested Rights - Substantially Complete Building Permit
Application: Application for all land use and development permits required under ordinances of the city shall be considered
under the zoning and other land use control ordinances in effect on the date a fully complete building permit application,
meeting the requirements identified in this section, is filed with the Building and Community Development Department.
Until a complete building permit application is filed, all applications for land use and development permits shall be reviewed
subject to any zoning or other land use control ordinances which become effective prior to the date of issuance of a final
decision by the city on the application.
An application for a building permit shall be considered complete when an application meeting all of the
requirements of Section 106.3 of the Uniform Building Code, 1997 Edition, is submitted which is consistent with all then
applicable ordinances and laws. ln addition, to be considered complete, such an application must be accompanied by
complete applications for any subsidiary land use or development permits needed, such as a complete shoreline
management permit application and/or complete applications for other discretionary permits required under the ordinances
of Port Townsend. An application for a partial permit under Section 106.4.1 of the Uniform Building Code, 1997 Edition,
shall not be considered complete unless it meets all requirements stated above and contains plans for the complete
structuralframe of building and the architectural plans for the structure.
