RESOLUTION NO. 18-022
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A PUBLIC
WORKS CONTRACT WITH AGATE ASPHALT & EXCAVATION TO PROVIDE
PAVING FOR THE BIOSOLIDS COMPOSTING FACILITY
WHEREAS, the Compost Facility is located at the Jefferson County Landfill owned and
operated by Jefferson County; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson County Environmental Health Department issues the operating permit
for the Biosolids Composting Facility; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson County Environmental Health Department requested that the City
provide a paved area to store the finished compost product; and,
and,
WHEREAS, the work for this project was bid using the Small Works Roster process; and,
WHEREAS, Agate Asphalt and Excavating was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder;
WHEREAS, the City Council must authorize any single trade public works contract over
$35,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the contract is in the amount of $44,095.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to sign a public works contract with Agate Asphalt and
Excavating, to provide paving at the Biosolids Composting Facility.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof,
held this 16th day of April, 2018.
