RESOLUTION NO. 18-003
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, RELATED TO PERSONNEL, ADOPTING A CLASSIFICATION
SCHEDULE FOR REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES
RECITALS:
A. The City Manager is authorized by RCW 35A.13.080(1) to have general
supervision of the administrative affairs of the City. RCW 35A.13.090 reserves to
the Council the right to create "...such departments, offices, and employments as
it may find necessary or advisable, and may determine the powers and duties of
each department or office."
B. In 2017, The City Council adopted Resolution 17-058 adopting several changes to
the salary schedules for represented and non -represented employees.
C. Staff recommends updating the Classification Schedule for Represented
Employees (Exhibit A) to reflect the addition of the Equipment Operator — Fleet
position.
D. The City Council, having carefully considered this recommendation, has
determined it to be in the best interests of the City to adopt the recommendation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
1. The Council adopts the proposed salary schedule for represented employees
substantially the same form as the schedule Exhibit A.
2. All previously -adopted salary schedules are superseded.
3. The City Manager is authorized to take administrative actions consistent with this
Resolution.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 16th day of January, 2018.
