Downtown Water St. NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES Date: January 5, 2017 Time: 4:30 pm Location: City Hall 1st Floor Conference Room Members Present: Lys Burden, Pat Teal, Richard Dandridge, Scott Walker, Mark Henthorn, Joe Finn, Jolly Wahlstron Members Excused: Mike Kaill, Hendrik Taatgen Staff Present: Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker, City Engineer David Peterson, City Manager David Timmons, Project Engineer Samantha Trone, Project Manager Tyler Johnson Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action Approval of Minutes: November 3, 2016 Unanimous approval Staff Report: Samantha Trone gave an overview of the Water Street Paving Project. Mark Henthorn was invited to join the City’s stakeholder meeting as NMTAB’s representative. Richard Dandridge will be the alternate. David Timmons gave an overview of the Complete Streets grant process and asked the Board to prioritize projects for $800,000 in Complete Streets improvements over 3 years, focusing on finishing connection and multi-use trails. The Board will discuss potential projects at their next meeting. David Peterson reported that the Parks Department is working on trail maintenance projects. The Parks Department has begun numbering trails. Jolly Wahlstrom will provide a list of maintenance priorities to staff. The Board will bring back ideas for naming trails at the next meeting. Public Comment: Owen Fairbank recommended finishing the Thomas Street Trail to the overlook, putting a crosswalk in across Sims Way at Henery’s Garden Center and replacing the missing crosswalk on Walker Street. Bicycle Friendly City Award: Lys Burden updated the Board on the status of the Bicycle Friendly City Award and suggested that the Board review some of the deficiencies it identified at a future meeting.
