MINUTES

STAFF PRESENT:Dottie Curren Steve Oakford
Mark called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM. Brian motioned and John seconded that the minutes be approved.
Motion passed
OLD BUSINESS:
• Reinstating the independent news program, “Democracy Now” was discussed. The program
is received M-F about 5:00 AM via a satellite dish, and it was rebroadcast here at 7:00 AM
and 8:00 PM the same day. There were a few inquiries when PTTV lost the private funding
for the dish early in 2009. John moved that $300.00 be used to again establish the dish
connection.
• Mark will replace Pam on the Long Range Planning Committee. He and Brian will meet
soon.
NEW BUSINESS:
• Low income memberships and productions have been requested. A monthly payment has
been requested but is not workable with the city. A discussion followed about having the
studio open once a month for use by low income individuals. This raised quite a few
questions about how to proceed, especially regarding proof of low income
MANAGER’S
REPORT:
• Dottie reported that we currently have about 17 paid members. (Actual numbers are 11
individual members and 4 organizations as of Feb. 14, 2011)
• The budget has approximately $29,000 remaining for 2011.
• Steve reported on upcoming shoots already scheduled. Several PTHS basketball games and
one wrestling match have been recorded and broadcast live. If the school district can provide
a van, home baseball and soccer games will be broadcast during spring quarter. School Board
meetings continue to be recorded and rebroadcast.
This was Pam’s last meeting as a committee member. PTTV is appreciative of her contributions to the station.
The next PEG Meeting will be on Tuesday, March 8 at 3:30.
ADJOURN: The meeting adjourned at 4:30.
Respectfully submitted,
Dottie Curren
