City of Port Townsend 250 Madison St. Port Townsend, WA 98368 Dear Mr. Sepler, Re: Request for Extension for Permit No. BLD08-099 I received the above -referenced building permit on May 19, 2008 and began work promptly on the project (a workshop/utility building) on June 19, completing the exterior envelope by the end of August. The City granted a permit extension to July 2, 2009 in December as personal circumstances had caused me to suspend work for some considerable time. I am currently completing the rough -in plumbing and but doubt I can schedule the next inspection before the current permit extension date. As suggested in your letter of December 2, I would like to request an additional 180-day extension of the permit to allow the interior work to be completed. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this project or the requested extension. Richard Talbot stated in the attached letter dated December 2, 2008 that family circumstances prevented him from continuing with the work after the last building inspection on July 7, 2008. Prior to July 2, 2009, the next inspection must be scheduled, or another written request for an additional 180 day extension received by this department. The roofing and siding was completed in August, at which point I had to suspend the work due to a death in my family and the need to travel overseas for an extended period to make arrangements. The last inspection was July 7 and therefore I understand that my permit will expire on January 7, 2009. Although I anticipate starting rough plumbing and electric work shortly, I would like to request a 180-day extension of the permit to July 7, 2009 due to these unforeseen circumstances.
