RESOLUTION NO. 17-035
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, APPROVING A REQUEST FROM HABITAT FOR HUMANITY TO
DEFER BUILDING AND UTILITY CONNECTION CHARGES
WHEREAS, PTMC 3.36.011 authorizes the deferral of building fees, utility connection
charges, and system development charges for a public or private nonprofit organization that is
developing or constructing housing units for low-income individuals; and, the City strives to
maintain and improve the wastewater collection system each year; and
WHEREAS, PTMC 3.36.01IF limits deferrals for building fees and utility connection
charges to four dwelling units per applicant per year (but places no such restriction on system
development charges); and
and
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity has already received four deferrals, and seeks a fifth;
WHEREAS, staff has established the amount of fees deferred to be a total of $2,496.92.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
1. Habitat for Humanity's request for deferral of building fees and utility connection charges
for the property at 1049 Nora Porter Loop Road (BLD 17-107, MIP 17-054) is APPROVED.
2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a deferral agreement as provided for in PTMC
3.36.011E, and to take all administrative actions consistent with this Resolution.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 17th day of July, 2017.
