NOTE: Special Inspection is required for all structural welding, 6, 000 psi concrete and A325 high
strength bolting, as required by UBC Section 1701.5. Special Inspector shall be a Washington licensed
.engineer or ICBO certif ed inspector. ICBO certified inspector to either b e listed in the current edition of
WABO ~v and Inspector Re i~ or present credentials to the Building Department prior to
performing inspections. Reguired Special Inspection Reports shall indicated compliance with the plans
and specifications and shall be copied to the Building Department in a timely manner. Permit Holder or
Permit Holders' Agent shall review and oversee correction of any and all deficiencies noted by required
special inspections.
Hours o/'construction shall be limited to 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Monday through Friday and prohibited on
weekends and national holidays.
EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL
Temporary erosion and sediment control measures shall be
installed on-site as per approved plan during construction
through the use of ftlter fence to contain dirt and sediment on-
site. Adjacent rights-of--way shall be kept clean through
sweeping of paved surfaces, tire wash, etc.

SAFETY PLAN
A site-specific safety plan will be prepazed for use by all
workers at the site during remedial activities. The site will
be secured to prevent entry of unauthorized persons. The
contractor is required to comply with the safety
requirements of all government agencies, including
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
and Washington State Department of Labor and Industries
(L&I), for excavation safety and for operations at hazardous
materials sites. The Contractor will be responsible for site
safety at all times during this project. The Contractor must
maintain documentation that their on-site workers in the
exclusion zone ("hot" zone) meet the health and safety
requirements of OSHA and L&I.

TRAFFIC CONTROL
Traffic control plans are required per the city's Engineering
Design Standards. A traffic control plan shall be submitted
to the Director of Public Works for review and approval.
Trucks shall be directed to use collector and arterial streets
wherever feasible. Use of local access streets through
residential neighborhoods shall be minimized Where truck
routes traverse school zones, the report shall specify
measures to ensure the safety of school children.
DEMOLITION
During demolition, the contractor will conduct a survey of all
buildings for asbestos-containing building materials and lead-
based paint, using trained and certified personnel. If asbestos-
containing materials are discovered, contractor will stop work
and follow all state abatement and demolition procedures.
Materials from demolition are to be removed from the site via a
barge to minimize traj~c impacts on Water Street. Demolition
materials shall be disposed of on upland areas that meet all
qualifcations as set forth by state and local law.
Prior to the first day of piling removal the anolicant/contractor

Final -Building
GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Contractors working on this project are required to have a Labor & Industries contractor's reeistration
number and a City business license. Failure to provide proof of this documentation prior to work may
result in job shut down while this is accomplished.
2. Temporary erosion and sediment control (TESC) measures shall be installed on-site and inspected prior
to beginning construction; ca11 3 85-22 94. Measures shall include installation of silt fencing and graveled
construction entrance (see attached details). Adjacent rights-of-way shall be kept free of dirt debris. Soils
exposed during construction shall be temporarily stabilized with mulching, plastic sheeting, etc. Snits
shall be permanently stabilized with seeding, plantings, sodding, etc. once construction is complete.
Applicant is responsible for protection of adjacent properties.

• 3. All elements of engineering including nailing, holdowns, sheathing, and alternate braced wall panels
(ABWP) require inspection prior to cover.
4. Owner or owner's agent shall review and oversee correction of any and all deficiencies noted by required
inspections.
5. Re-inspection is required after inspection report corrections are completed.
6. The Building Department is unable to pass final inspection on your project until Public Works
requirements have been completed and inspected. For Public Works inspection ca11385-2294. A
minimum of twenty-four hours notice is required. Public Works aonroval must be received nrior to
scheduling the Building Deaartment's final inspection.
7. Final Inspections are required prior to occupancy; A Certificate of Occupancy is required fora non-
residential project.
8. All building permits expire if no progress has been made within six months, or if no inspections are done
by the Building Department within one year. Call for at least one inspection per year to keep your
building permit active.
9. Revisions require submittal & approval prior to making changes in the field. Contact the Building
Department @ 379-3208 prior to making changes to the approved plans.
