On Friday, February 24, 2017, beginning at or about 2:30 p.m., the Port Townsend
Hearing Examiner will hold an open-record public hearing to consider the above
referenced application involving a new residential subdivision.
The public hearing will take place in the City Council Chambers, located at 540 Water
Street, Port Townsend, WA. A copy of the application and all other related documents
are available for review in the Public Inspection files maintained by the DSD Department
located on the 3rd floor, 250 Madison Street, Suite 301. All interested persons may
appear at the hearing and provide oral or written testimony.
Description: The Newsom Plat involves the further subdivision of Lot B within the
Campbell Short Subdivision, which was filed of record within the previous 5 years. The
four (4) proposed Newsom lots range in size from 7,500 to 10,487 square feet. Access to
proposed Lots 1 and 2 would be via the adjoining Cleveland Street. Proposed Lot 3
would gain access via adjoining Wilson Street. Lot 4 may gain access from either an
existing private easement leading westward to Cleveland Street. Alternatively, this
subdivision review may explore authorizing access to Lot 4 via a new easement that
would be established across Lot 3 and out to Wilson Street. Public sewer already runs
along the north, west and east boundary of the site and would be connected to for service.
Public water would be provided, where needed, into the development by extending from
existing facilities lying within Wilson Street.

Location/Legal Description: The .83-acre site lies east of the Cleveland and 3rd Street
intersection, and south of Wilson Street. The underlying property is Lot B of the
Campbell Short Plat, lying within Section 10, Township 30 North, Range 1 West, W.M.
The Jefferson County tax parcel number for the site is 001-104-031. A complete legal
description for the site, including existing easements which encumber it, are in the project
file available at the City's Development Services Department (DSD).
