2. INSULATION: See component pertormance takeoffs for like areas of insulation with different
R values.
3. SHEETROCK NAILING: 1 Hr. F.R. const .of wall on ADU side with draft stop above. 1/2"
GWB overT-1-11 on storage area wall common to ADU. Self-closing door required.
4. VAPOR BARRIER: V.B. required. Use kraft faced insulation, 4 mil poly or approved vapor
barrier paint (which requires a vapor barrier paint certificate at Final Inspection which specs
model of approved paint).
5. FINAL: Address for ADU required. See Jan Zimmer at City Hall for issuance ($3.00 fee
required). Post 5" high house numbers on ADU. If these numbers cannot be seen from the
street additional 3" numbers must be posted on a post or mail box on a route that leads to the
ADU.
6. FINAL: Smoke detectors are required throughout all residential dwelling area per the '94 UBC.
Battery powdered SD are acceptable in areas of existing construction where no new work is
being performed.
