Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action
Approval of Minutes: February 3, 2016 The minutes were unanimously approved.
Mayor Deborah Stinson, City Manager David Timmons and City
Attorney Steve Gross addressed the Commission regarding potential changes to the rules and regulation concerning advisory boards. They
highlighted Council’s concerns regarding work plans and tasking
requests, developing agendas, term limits, and email correspondence
and sought input from the Commission.
Members of the Kiwanis Club presented their application for funding of
the Stars of Tomorrow talent show. A detailed budget was not available
to determine actual production costs.
The Commission voted to reconsider the application
at a future meeting after budget expenses had been
identified and provided the event admission be charged as a suggested donation.
The Commission reviewed an application for funding from the Community Chorus for their Spring Concert. The Commission unanimously approved funding of $500 for the performances.
The Commission reviewed an application for funding from the Jefferson
County Farmers’ Market for the Artisan Food Festival.
The Commission unanimously approved funding of
$1000 for the festival.
The Commission reviewed an application for funding from the
Northwind Arts Center for the Arts to Elders program for $1500 in addition to the $1000 awarded last month. The combined $2500 will be
used as matching funds for a $2500 donation pledged by another
donor.
The Commission unanimously approved funding of
$1500 for four additional performances in 2016.
Next Regular Meeting: April 6, 2016 The Commission postponed review of applications
from the Jefferson County Historical Society,
Chameleon Theater and Key City Public Theater
until the April 6 meeting.
