NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Members Present: Jolly Wahlstron, Lys Burden, Scott Walker (Chair), Richard Dandridge, Pat Teal, Mike Kaill

Staff Present: Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker, City Engineer David Peterson, Operations Manager David Zellar
Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action
Approval of Minutes: January 7, 2016 Unanimous approval
Staff Report: Operations Manager David Zellar updated the Board on his activities
inspecting road conditions and ADA street accessibility. City Engineer David Peterson
updated the Board on Council deliberations regarding advisory boards and potential changes to communication between advisory boards, staff, and Council.
Next Trail Project: The next trail project will be on Saturday, March 19th to work on
the trail near Grant Street School. Lys Burden will create a phone tree with former
volunteer phone numbers for the Board to use to call and recruit volunteers for the project.
Trail Map Project: Scott Walker informed the Board that the new trail map printing will
be paid for by lodging tax funds. Public Works Director Ken Clow will coordinate
development of the maps with David McCullough.
Bicycle Friendly City Update: Richard Dandridge and Lys Burden are continuing to
work on collecting documents to support the Bicycle Friendly City renewal process. The materials will be forwarded to the City for submission.
Rack Card Project: A draft of the trailhead rack card was presented. David Peterson
directed the Board to seek approval from the City Manager before pursuing the
project.
Public Comment: Debbie Jahnke updated the Board on the ongoing activities of the
DNR WCC urban forestry crew at Bishop Park, Kah Tai Nature Park and the Haller
Steps.
