A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, APPROVING EXECUTION OF FUNDING AND LOAN DOCUMENTS
AND AGREEMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE STATE OF WASHINGTON
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY, TRADE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AND JEFFERSON COUNTY
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAM DOVE HOUSE
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution 07-036 (passed October 15, 2007, following
public hearing) authorized the City Manager to apply to the state Department of Community,
Trade and Economic Development for funding assistance through a CDBG housing enhancement
program on behalf of Jefferson County Domestic Violence/ Sexual Assault Center (DV/SAP) for
construction of the Dove House transitional housing project, and
WHEREAS, the CDBG funding has been approved in the approximate amount of
$425,000, and
WHEREAS, notice was published in the City's official newspaper (Port Townsend &
Jefferson County Leader) on August 6, 2008 that the City Council on August 18, 2008 would
hold a public hearing and consider action on this matter, and that interested persons could
provide comment in writing or in person, and all persons who wished to make comment or
submit materials were allowed to do so, and the Council duly considered the same at a public
hearing on August 18, 2008
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved:
David G. Timmons, City Manager, is authorized to execute all necessary documents in
connection with the CDBG housing enhancement program for the Domestic Violence/ Sexual
Assault Center (DV/SAP) construction of the Dove House transitional housing project,
including, as necessary, funding and loaned agreement with the State of Washington, and
agreements with DV/SAP.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this eighteenth day of August 2008.
