PORT TOWNSEND PLANNING COMMISSION TES
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Hall. Members present
were** Mrs. Green, fir. Copps, Mrs. Dei ts, Mr. Lindquist and Dr. hul. ian.
Members absent: lira Stuart. Visitors included the Mayor, r. Sullivan.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. -A letter from
the State Dept* of Oommrce & Eemomic Development relative to assistance
offered by Mr. Kirry was read and filed,
letter from Mr. Hendrickson of the Association of Washington Cities
was read regarding the National Planning Conference Convent ori to be held
in Seattle, May 6. 7 and 8. The Registration fee is $20.00. Mr. Hall and
Mrs. Green both volunteered to go to one meeting on their own expense. Mr.
Copps made the motion that Mr.Hall go to the convention and attend all
meetings and represent the Port Townsend Planning Commission. Seconded b

discussion on finances and operational budget was held. The Chair an
stated that if it was agreeable with the members he would proceed to
obligate the funds in accordance with the items listed in the budget.
There was no objection.
Mrs. Green announced that a Building Restoration Workshop would be he ld
at the Washington Athletic Club April 10,1063 from 1:30 to 4:45. Mrs.Green
and Mr. Hall plan to attend.

New business: A discussion was held on whether the Pt.'s, group should join
planning associations. Mr.Diets and Mr. Lindquist thought we should wait
till next `ear* No further action was taken.

Ir. Hall read an article from the Cottage Grove sentinal newspaper on
Zoning T riance. It explained some of the problems likely to affect the
C o=i s i ori in the future.
discussion was held on the proposed filling in of the Lagoon by the Port,
following ars inquiry of Mayor Sullivan by Mro Lindquist as to the Council' s
interest in the p o ect. No action was taken.
The necessity for codifying the City Ordinances was discussed at length.
The Chairman will visit the City Manager at Port Angeles and check more
closely on the cost, por ible- bidders, etc. and report at the next meeting*
In order to assist the Commission in developing a proper program to
follovP it was decided to ask mars From the State t speak at the next
meeting. The Chairman will make the necessary arrangements.
The next meeting May 13th will be held at the same place at the same times
