Chairman Marsh called the meeting to order. Members present: Marsh,
Johnson, Wojtj Smith, Wightman. Commissioner June Scott, who was the
Treasurer, has resigned. The minutes were approved as railed.
Johnson/Smith moved Floyd Wightman be chosen Treasurer; by unanimous
vote he was elected. There followed a review of the budget readout.
Two topics care up for discussion: 1 terms of office of members of
the Commission and the Steering Committee. Fred Lester wished to
be removed from the Steering Committee; he will be replaced by Robert
Johnson, who will serve until the end of 1976 .
APPLICATION NO, 114 - Gerald & Alida Sandquist

Rezone Request from R-I t -II for property located at Eisenbeis
Addition, Bloch 75, Lots 1-8 , Proposed Use: multifamily dwellings.
Wojt/Nighty an moved a public hearing be set for July 2 , 1976 .
VOTE: yes 4 no
APPLICATION . 112 - Anthony E , S troeder
1730 Hill St,
PUBLIC HEARING. Request to rezone from R-I to R-II property located
at Eisenbei.s Addition, Blocks 221 and 209 , Lots 1 thrru 8, for the
purpose of constructing multifamily units. No one appeared in
opposition to this request. The hearing was taped. Af ter discussion
with Mr. Stroeder, Johnson/Smith moved to recommend to the City Council
the rezone request be approved. VOTE: yes 4 no
Reason for approval: efficient utilization of the grounds and suppl -
ing a need of the community for multifamily dwellings in an area which
is going to require them.
APPLICATION NO. 115 - Joshua N. Dorris and others
Request to vacate Landes Street lying between Blocks 28 and 27 of
the 0. C. Hastings Addition to the City of Port Townsend, The
Conmissioners and Mr . Norris thoroughly discussed problems with regard
to Discovery Road and the vague boundaries in the area. Wo j t/Smith
moved the application for street vacation be recommended to the City
Council for approval. Reason: It sloes not appear there will be a need
for the street. VOTE. yes 4 no 0
APPLICATION NO* 101 R. Fisher Hendrickson of Sequin) continues
on table. See April 26 minutes.
APPLICATION 1 O. 116 - Tony & Heidi Rodes hier, 1306 Franklin
Request for Conditional Use Permit to operate seasonal tourist home at
above address . oft/Wightman moved to recommend to the City Council
the request be approved, provided there is no objection from the fire
department and there are no more than three rooms to let, as per
Zoning ordi

The secretary was instructed to write a letter to the Magor and City
Council requesting that appointments to the Commission be staggered
so that the torn of only one Commissioner expires each year as per
F C T 35,63,030) They are also being asked to clarify length of teras
of present members of the Commission and when their terms expire ,
Through efforts of the Centrum Foundation, Port Townsend has been
placed in the National Register of Historic Places , In order t
review the implications of such action, Ri chard McCurdy member of
Centru m' s Board of Directors) will be invited to attend a meeting o
the City Planning Commission to share some input with the Commissioners.
Briefly, the Commissioners dwelt on the subject of obtaining updated
copies of the Zoning map.
The meeting was adjourned.
