Randy Tyler, City Planning Consultant, was also present. The minutes were read and corrected. motion was made by Robert erJohnson, seconded by Kay Wo t, to transfer funds in the amount of $240, to the Engineering Department to cover the services f Mr. Tyler, VOTE: yes 4 no In the matter of the rezone request of Fred Staph, Max Loomis reported on his canvass of surrounding property owners . After discussion, on a motion by Lee Lefler, seconded by R. Johnson, a public hearing was set for November 25, to rezone from R-lA to C-2 o t. strip following the North line of the State Highway, from the power line right of way to the American Legion Park and a. 300 ft. strip following the South line of the State Highway, from the power line right of way to Glen Cove Road, VOTE: yes 3 no 1 Roger French, City E]gineer, and the Commissioners discussed the rezoning of the San Juan Grocery, which has in error remained under a "grandfather" clause, and should more appropriately be zoned C-1, neighborhood commercial. The proprietor wishes to add a cola storage f cility and the present zoning restricts him from doing so. A motion was made by Robert Johnson, seconded by Lee Lefler, to sot a public hearing on November 25 , to rezone from R-1 to C-1, the property located at the northwest corner of San Juan and Discovery Bay Road, known as the San Juan Grocery, Expenses of the hearing will he borne by the Planning Commission. VOTE: yes 4 no 0 Randy Tyler, City Planner, reported on his activities with regard to updating the Comprehensive Plan and revisions to the Zoning Ordinance, as well as other matters of community interest. There will be two or three openings in Planning Commission membership in the near future, At the next meeting, scheduled for November 18, list of possible candidates for these openings will be compiled and presented to the Mayor for his consideration.
