MINUTES of PORT TOWNSEND PLANNING COMMISSION of JULY 8, 1974
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Harry Deits. All Commissioners
were present. Councilmen Cipriotti and Black were in the audience. The
minutes were read and approved.
Nominations were opened for a new Vice Chairman. After being nominated,
then declining, Lee Lefler nominated Del Graham, seconded by Robert
Johnson. Max Loomis moved that nominations be closed, seconded by Fred
Lester, votes in favor of Del Graham were ; none opposed.
The secretary read a letter received from Jack Scott, loo loth St. ,
Port Townsend, who would like to contribute some free time to the
community in a useful endeavor coinciding with his background and
experience.
request was received from Elgar R. and Patricia S, Sullivan requesting
a conditional use permit to sell antiques at the Starratt House, which
they are negotiating to purchase . Fred Johnson of Endicott Realty was
in the audience as their spokesman. Discussion followed. on a motion
by Del GrAham, seconded by Max Loomis, it was voted to recommend to the
City Council the conditional use permit be granted, VOTE: yes 6 no 0
A request was received from Fred C. Stapf for a rezone from R-1A t
C-2 for property located at
+ 30 Rlw x..9 2
Tax 9 (less E Soo ' and N lo ' ) N of Hwy.
In view of the fact that data on this request was incomplete, a motion
was made by Robert Johnson, seconded by Fred Lester, to table this
until the additional information is received from Mr, St p .
There was some discussion and reading of data received from the Inter-
Agency Committee for Outdoor Recreation Funding and the State of
Washington office of Community Development.
The Commissioners then resumed their discussion at the previous meeting
o-f inconsistencies between the Comprehensive Plan and the City Zoning
Ordinance, Foremost was an exchange of ideas on lot sizes and some
of the pr blems listed in the May 9 . 1974 letter from Roger French,
City Engineer. Randy Tyler, presently working with County Planner
Dave Cunningham, attended the meeting,, His services as a consultant
will become available to the Port Townsend Planning Commission from
time to time for the next 8 months.
