MINUTES OF FORT T WNSEND PLANNING COMMISSION OF FEBRUARY 25t 1974
All Commissioners were present. The meeting was called to order by

Chairman Miner. The minutes were read and corrected.
A series of meetings will be held in Wenatchee between March 29-31
on the subject of Proposed Trails, for those wishing to attend,
A petition by Mr, and Mrs. Henry Decker and Mr. and Mrs, Harold M.
Louis was read. They request a streetvacation for: the remaining
portion of North Pearl between Madrona and Vacated Alley in Block 68,
Lot 20 , in Seaview Estate, and adjacent to said Lot 20 . After
discussion, a motion was made by Harry a i is and seconded by Fred
Lester, recommending this petition be granted as written, on condition
Dr, Louis grants an access easement to Henry Decker across Lot 20 .

An application from W, R. Swanson and victor Castor was read. They
request that property located at the Eisenbeis Addition, Blocks 276
and 277 be rezoned for commercial use . After discussion, a motion
was made by Marry Befits, seconded by Robert Johnson, to hold a public
hearing on March 25, 1974, on the rezone of Blocks 276 and 277,
Eisenbeis addition. VOTE: yes 6 no 0
There was a scheduled public hearing on a request from Ronald P.
Radon, d/b/a Radon Boats, to rezone that area bounded on the south
by Jefferson Street, on the east by the extension of Jackson Street,
on the north by the extension of Clay Street, and on the west by
Monroe Street, for the purpose of constructing boat storage buildings,
The hearing was taped. Mr. Radon was not present, Some objections
were expressed by members of the audience, Mr. an Mrs . Glenn
Abraham, mainly because of fumes emanating from the area of boat
construction. After discussion, on a motion by Ed May, seconded by
Barry I efts, it was voted to recommend to the City Council to
rezone Bloch 93 and the south half of the vacated portion of Franklin
Street to -1. The Commission further recommended the owner be
requested to give greater consideration toward reducing the
objectionable fumes released as a result of the boat manufacture.

A .Appl i cation for a Variance, from Jack L. Hensel, Hensel
Construction, was read. He requests a building permit to construct
duplex in Cherry Park, on Lots Nh of 59 , 60 , and 61. After
discussion, Mr. Hensel agreed to change his request to a rezone of
the area. On a motion by Ed May, seconded by Robert Johnson, it
was voted to recommend that a public hearing be set for March 25 ,
1974 , for the rezone of the Broadway and Cherry Park Additions
from R--1 to R-2, VOTE: yes 6 no
A request for Street Vacation was received from the Port of Port
Townsend for the purpose of proceeding with the orderly development
of Port property, They petition for the vacation of that portion
of Prosper Street lying between Sims gamy and the North lime of
Jefferson Street, and that portion of Belle Street lying between
Suns Way and the forth line of Jefferson Street, together with than
portion of San Juan Avenue, McNeil Street, and Haines Street lying
between Sias Way and the Southern terminous of said Streets,

together with all alleys lying 'n those blocks between Prosper Street
and Haines Street, and between the boundary of Sirs Way and extending
one block South thereof. After discussion, on a motion by Ed May,
seconded by Karry Deits, it was voted to recommend to the City Council
that the Vacation be granted as requested, It is further reconu ended
that the City Council verify Port ownership of all ropertynvolved.
VOTE: yes 4 no 2
The Commissioners briefly discussed the judge' s decision on conflict
of interest in the zoning in Clallam County. Glenn Abraham, City
Attorney, suggested members of this Commission abstain from voting
where a conflict of interest is involved.
The meeting was adjourned.
