The Port Townsend Planning Commission March 1972 meeting was
called to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were
read and approved as read
Correspondance
A Letter from Mr. Grant Allen was read concerning ing the proposed
development at the Kai Tai Lagoon area:.
A letter was read from the Dept. of Ecology about a Litter
Control. Program for the period of Aril 22nd . to May "nth.
An outline of the April Plain"n Association of Washington
meeting, to e held in walla wa , was read .
The Uptown Business Association sent a letter to the Planning
Commission rec mmendin that the area between Lincoln and
Water and between Hudson to Kearney be rezoned to C.V"3
The cAairman asked. for a committee of two to begin a survey
of the uptown business district, with extension of the
Lawrence street area in mind . Kay Wojt and Bob Johnson were
asked to be ready to report at the April meeting.
New business:
Harry Diets iscussed the previous Council meeting and referred
to the Council concern with tie new Proposed Sub-Division
Ordinance , specifically their lack of authority.
BobJohnson made motion to ask the Council to permit the
transferring of funds within the Planning Commission Budget
from Travel Expence to Capital Inv stment s see sec . mote
in the form of a resolution, to allow the Com ss .on t
puchae a tape recorder, to tape public hearings for record:
and that the amount of money not exceed seventy dollars.
Seconded by Harry Diets. vote ayes 1
Extra monthly meeLings was a t_ pic of the Commission. Fred Lester
and Harry Diets volunteered to act as,_..cornmit ee (rather than
schedule extra meetings) begin research on the Kearngy street
District dor re-zone. It was decided that both committees
(Lester and Diets Wojt and Johnson) will call vary Buren the
starting point
Kay wo j t brought a map, with overlays , of her residential area,
showing existing use, and the possibility of street vacations , and
neighborhood trails.
