Commission
The March meeting of the Port Townsend Planning]was called
to order. The minutes were read and approved as read .
Mr Miner commented to the Commission that the City Council
had acted favorable to recommendations of the Commiss�
ion of late , especially concerning variance requests.
A request was presented to the Commission by Mr. French
on behalf of Mr. Al Reierson for a set-back variance at
Lot l and 4, Block 35 , in the Pettygrove 1st. Addition.
This request was accompanied by a letter from Mr. French
indicating the reasons for the request by Mir. Reierson g
and Mr. French' s recommendation to the Commission in this
ratter. fir. Diets made the motion to recommend to the
City Council to accept the set--back variance at Lot 1 and
., Block 35 , Pettygrove 1st Addition, as requested by
Mr. and Mrs. Al Reierson. The vote was four yes. (All
members present. )
Mr. Frence asked the Planning Commission to inquire of the
ihayor and City Council what authority the Planning Commiss-
ion has concerning set-back variance requests; specifically
If the Commission has the authority to grant or only to
recommend granting of these requests'
Mr. May made the motion to respectfully request early
action by the Council on the Zoning Ordinance, and either
approve or rejest it as soon as possible. seconded b
Mr. Lester and followed with a Four yes vote,
The official usiness meeting of the Planning Commission
was adjourned , but continued in session to work on the
Sub-Division Ordinance beginiiig. with the reading of
letter from Clark, Colman, and Rupiks, answering questions
previously asked of them by the Commission.
