The December meeting of the Port Townsend Planning Commission
was called to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were
read and approved as corrected .
Mr,, Ed May was irr#roduced as the new member of the Planning
Commission.
letter from Commissioner Kay W'o t was read explaining that
she found It necessary to be absent from several meetings t
and stating her intentions to stay acquainted with Commission
business during this time,
At the call for old business:

The St. Johns Hospital street vacation request before the if
commission was again reviewed . Discussion followed indioagin
the Commissioners feel the reasons stated for these vacations
are not necessarily valid . Mr. Diets made the motion to
recommend to the City Council to deny the vacation request on
the basis that it is not In the hest interest of the City
at this time." Seconded and passed with a 4 yes vote, 3 absent.
It was suggested. to indicate in the recommendation to the
council that this denial is pending re�platting of said

The request for vacation of portions of 10 and 11 by...Muriel
S. Thompson was discussed* Mr Taiji Miyamoto of America
Pacific Corp. , representing her 2 was present* Discussion
followed concerning the project proposed. A motion from
Mr .Mets to recommend to the City Council to grant the peti-

The proposed. study sessions on sub-division were discussed ,
and the following dated were decided upon;
' hursdays January 7th and 14th, 1971 at- 7:30
The first meeting will be held in the hone of Mrs. WoJte
It was deeded that the secretory shall call Com&ssioners
before study sessions and regular monthly meetings In an effort
to promote better attendance
Being no further business, the meeting was adjournede
