Gus Lindquist, Fred Lester, Jeff Pederson, Mary Johns on and Mr.Gla rk of Consulting f ir , Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Correspondence: Letter from C ark, o eman & Rupeiks enclosing draft text of the Comprehensive P n. Letters from Dept. of Institutions and Task Force for 6tudy of Puget Sound & Adjacent Waters regarding the comprehensive plan were read. letter from Planning Commission to City Council recommending street vacation for Tohn Kruse was read, discussion was held on boundaries ofClass IL fire district ordinance and how it affects private d el.lings and restoration of victor .an buildings and it was recommended bringing this to the attention of the City council. Chairman Lindquist stated that according to the Mayor, Mary Johnson will remain a member of the Planning Commission until the final papers on the sale of her property have been signed and she is no longer a resident of the city. Mr. Clark gave a report on the hia-lights of the comprehensive plan draft text and discussed the various maps that will be included in the final report. He stated that PtsTownsend would receive Zoo copies the published report in December alad suggested giving copies t the City Council., Port Commission, mayor , Library and Schools but t be careful of oareless distribution as 50 to loo copies should be put away for future use. He also said it was up to the Planning Comm, to make the policy for distribution. He said the present plan was geared to 1985 but haat the Planning Commission, every 4 to 6 years, should review and update the plan according to community development. Mr a Clark also said there are many legal requirements to be met before the Council can enact zoning and therefore it would be at least next spring before zoning could be put into effect. He also suggested a Review Board or Design Advisory Board to work with the Council, and have the right to review all plans by private and public agencies, discussion was held on future plans of the fort Commission regarding the lagoon area with industry and convention center in particular& new shopping center in the lagoon area is contrary toy the comprehensive plan for that area. Jeff Pederson stated he was attending the Port Com. meetings and asted if he could represent himself as member of the Planning Coinmission am no action taken, r. Dorgan, of Morgan Realty Company, gave a talk on the trend to mobile domes and stated they are' put on foundations and become permanent hone and asked about requirements for placing thea in the city' He showed pictures of various styles* A general discussion was held but no action taken. Mr. Glark .stat d the mobile home question is up to the city to decide* + r Chairman Lindquist requested planning members to suggest names to the Mayor for new planning commission members. He also said he was disappointed with the poor turn out of city fathers and general public to the planning meetings and suggested a change of meeting place* • i t r MOTION:# Jeff Pederson made the motion that the Planning Commission meet in , City Council chambers in City Miall effective with the next meeting. FrOd Lester seconded. Cd.
