Members present : Gus Lindquist Fred Lester , Harry Diets, Teff Pederson.

The minutes ofMay 27th were re4d and approved*
Chairman Gus Lindquist stated that tonight' s meeting was a make-up meeting
for Tiny and that a publio meeting June 24th took the place of a regular
monthly meeting.
Correspondence: Progress and Financial reports for the months of Llys
Jure and July from CarkCoean & Rupeks were rend. A letter from the

Bob Clark to Mr. Baron of the State Planning & Co munit affairs ge cy3

Consultant, and a letter from Dorothea Tooker offering suggestions for
study and inquiry regarding Crown n Zel .eart ach, touri=2 and consolidation
of schools. A statement of awes from the Panning Association of Ve .
in the amount of $15eWe Chairman vill notify City Clerk to send check.
Old Business * Chairman Lindquist gave a brief resume of the Tune 24th
open meets Teff Pederson brought up the problem of Glen Cove & CZ
holdings and stated that it is a hot issue pro and corp in the community
and is bound to come up in the near future and he would like the Planning
Commission to prepare for the eventuality of the problem. He also stated

that the location of the 2nd Fixe hall should be changed ire the plan if
CZ is included in the city in the futures and haat present fire prtection
for Glen Cove cones from Center and not Pt. . l and also that after the smoky:
abatement program is fi.#fi shed more people will build and settle in the
Glen Cove area. Harm Diets stated that not many people are involved i
that area and that any annexation would have to come from them - also that
the laws of the state read that before annexation the city must show they
ban offer oommunity servi&es such as fixe , water, sewage and police
protection that they don' t already have.
Chairman inuist stated that he gage a talk t the Rotary Club n the
progress: and vibrk of the Plenning Commissione He also stated that the
CLty Council when asking for reommendations from the Planning Commission
should alloy] more time and include more information so the members could
act on the requests* jilso the members were .against a phone poll. He
asked opihions on "closed Door' meetings with special groups who would be
hesitant to speak out in open meetings. Fred Lester was against any fi ]. sed"
meetings. Jeff Pederson was in favor only while issues are discussed.
Bob Clark went over the maps and tho following decisions weve reached fr
inclusion in the final oomprehens ve plan: 1. deep the lagoon a "green areal,
2. Move the 2nd fire hall further to the gest for elevation but in the
same general location. 3. Hove Memorial Field to outlying area in some
future time to the vicinity of the fairgrounds. . Right of way of
Front Street be shown on tpps and preserved as public right of way.
City Hall to be kept as a Plaza-City Hall-Museum useum Complex with probably
a new city hall built on property in that area.
Sub-division regulations were approved by the Pla,ming Commission.

Bob Clark stated that the Comprehensive Plan, Zoning } ire and
Sub-division re ul t i ons viould be submitted to the City and Planning
Commission shortly �ter the 1st ofthe year,, mother requirement
for the completed plan i s the Capital Imp em nt r m but Lr,
Clark suggested waiting until 1970 to start that program as it viould
take some time to put into effect the plans already completed.
He also stated, that as of j�pril of 1969 the contract between the City
and his consulting services could be officially ended but that for an
interum retainer in the neighborhood of 0.00 they viould be on call
for additional help betueen the time of the Comprehensive Plan and
the Capital Improve e n t u Program. The Planning Commission approve d
this interum pay and the Chairman is to include it in the 1969 bud
get
of the f lannine Commission. Fred Lester brought up the cost of the
overlays for use on the raps stating that th ,y ran kA.60 apiece. The
members approved putting the cost of these o .rlays into the budget.
