The minutes of tfia 'Previous meeting were read and approved.
Correspondence . letter from Jerry Simpson resigning ung the Planning
Cornrnission effec{ti a June 30, 1968 because of accepting work in Kansas
City, Mo. was read and a ceepted. . . . . . . letter from Mrs. Wallin, Pt.T.
Librarian, asking for corner stakes or markers on library property.
She stated that the work is being done by the Cityg000evotA letter in the
form of a Motion pr9sented and approved at the Chamber of Gonerce
May 13, 1968 ng recommending that the present City Hall if released
t _ for purposes other than for which it is noir being used be reserved for
restoration as a Museum and the adjoining Madison St. and other property
in that area be developed as a Plaza* Letter signed by Mrs. Lee C.Davis ,
Joe Ladley, Marg Tohnson, Morris Starrett and Charles Ual in.
Old Business: Copies of the City Ordinance and copies of the phamphlot
organization 4Administration of a City Planning Co nission in the
State of Wash. .* -s passed out to ne be �s of the Planning Corami cion.
Chairman Linda ` stated that a permit fol: a machine shop at 47th
Haines had beei " proved by the City Council.
Bob Clark gave a discussion on the maps and also took up one b one the
twelve �
e points brought up the special meeting May 8th. a also
asked the members to decide on a cover and theme of the final plan report.
Mary Johnson stated that Pt.T. is noted for it' s antiques and historical
background and that theme should be carried out thr out the final report.

a cover. Bob Clark stated that approval for the final phase of the
program came th u late in April, He also stated that he heartily
recommended leaders of Civic organizations and the City Council be
invited to attend meetings to go over maps and overlays in order
to first educate them, get their understanding and their support of the
whole program. Phil Copps suggested that more people be brought in and
their suggestions and ideas heard before moving mato the zoning part of
the plan.. Fred Lester stated that the location of the meetings keeps

large map printed in the newspaper clearly stating it was a PRELIMINARY
plan for the education of the public and try to get their interest.
Fred Lester made the MOTION seconded by George Brown that a special
meeting be held two weeks from tonight .Tune loth, to finish discussion
of maps before public meeting. Gd.
date for a public meeting was set for Tune 24th.
Fred Lester made the MOTION that we accept the phamphlet "Organization
dministra pion of a City Planning Commission s a guideline and adopt
rules of procedure. Phil Copps and George Brown both stated they had
not as yet read the book and could not vote so the motion was tabled
for future action,
general discussion was held on the downtown business section, future
moving of Memorial field , shopping center at Lagoon, and general discussion
f maps. Meeting adjourned.
